Recently, someone I loved for almost half my life?wrote?me expressing?that I was a ?fake gay?, a fraud, a ?disgrace and disgusting person?, explaining in depth and without remorse that individuals that come out later in life or do not say anything prior to entering adolescences cannot claim themselves as being gay.

Apparently, for those of us who were able to verbalize our sexuality as a teenager are much more believable as being gay, therefore they have no choice but be that way.? The rest of us, well we choose to be gay either because we hate men, have been abused or have pedophile tendencies (yes, sadly I was told that this is why I am gay!).

Now I know that none of this is true, and I am secure enough in my identity that all this crap means very little to me; however, it still hurts.? Mostly because if this was said to me earlier on in my coming out, I may have gone into a major depression and isolated confused and hurt.? But also, because I realized that as much as you love someone and live to your truest intention, people?s ignorance and hatred for what is different will come out, sometimes with a new and degrading label.

?Fake? a term used to describe when something is not real or that it is false. It?s true a lot of people were shocked when I came out, as usual I did it in the most awkward and social questionable way. I am not a very eloquent person; in fact, I am the complete opposite when it comes to social situations and people.? I began saying things, which suggested that I was in a relationship with a woman, and I sent a mass email out (which I do not suggest in hindsight). So people were shocked, and yes they had questions and doubts.

All I knew for the first time in my life, I never felt more free or happy.? All of the energy I had spent reading social cues, doing what was expected, feeling lost, and absolutely confused and avoidance of others had ended.? I tried to explain to people that for some individuals the answers are not within our reach, and that coming out is a process.? There are things that went on in my head, thoughts and fantasies, which no one could have ever imagined. After all, who are you going to tell when you?re in a relationship with a man, but looking at their sister wondering what it would be like to hold her hand or feeling intensely for your best friend.

I lost my virginity to a girl when I was still a young teen.? I told my mom, who eased my sexual confusion by telling me I was simply experimenting and it was normal.? But the first person that ever heard about it was six years later, when I was drunk.? For six years I held that secret inside, I could not tell anyone.? I was told that homosexuals all had AIDS, and go straight to hell. I was not about to have my world think that of me.

Coming out is something that never ends, we are constantly evolving and having to come to an understanding of who we were, what we have become and where we want to be.? I have made many, really millions of mistakes along the way, but my intentions were to live honestly and openly with what I felt inside. Unfortunately, I was not always able to clearly express that to others- I think that makes people feel betrayed because they wonder what was happening in those moments, when we were so quiet.

I do not hate men, I never have, I have never been sexually assaulted, nor do I have any feeling or thoughts of an inappropriate age group of individuals.? I am simply a woman?who dated men, had a child, and through that journey had a weight on my shoulder I could not explain- had no model to compare it too- and found someone who brought light into a very dark place, and she happened to be a woman.

The intensity of the love that I have with women is not comparable to that I have had with men, not to dismiss those relationships because I did love them- it is just not the same.? I could not imagine not having or being forbidden to have that connection with another woman- it?s magical.? I am not about to erase my past, it?s my past and the people who were there that made me who I am today- I very open, happy, determine, and still a socially awkward person.? I am grateful for my past connections, I was given so much.

Being labeled a ?fake? gay has forced me to realize that coming out can hurt our social surroundings, just as much as it is painful for us.? I am sure that they are female friends of mine that wonder if I ever looked at them sexually, had any secret crushes, and men that feel betrayed and played.? I do not blame them; I would wonder the same things, with the same amount of betrayal.? There is just no right procedure to find out who you are Gay, Bi, Trans, or Straight it?s a murky messy journey for all of us.

With the world changing, and our endless attempts to educating?others on the difficulties and challenges of coming out, more people can feel safe and find answers without the struggles and betrayal felt by so many others.? He was accompanied by Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Abdul Wajid?Rana, Chairman, Federal Board of Revenue, Mumtaz Haider Rizvi, Member?Inland Revenue, Shahid Hussain Asad and other senior FBR officials.

Dr. Shaikh pointed out that despite the global meltdown and?challenging business environment, Pakistan?s 3.7 percent GDP growth?during fiscal year 2011 ? 2012 was comparable to growth rates across?the region, excluding those in China and India.

Further, he pointed out that the FBR had also been successful in?generating 17 percent additional federal revenues in 2010 ? 2011 that?are expected to scale up further to 25 percent in the current fiscal.

In his briefing to the Minister, President, OICCI Humayun Bashir?outlined the contribution of its membership in spurring economic?growth and underscored that these numbers could be increased?considerably if the government addressed key concerns such as?security, energy shortage and ensure effective policy implementation.

OICCI members raised important issues concerning the taxation?structure in light of the upcoming budget, including loss of revenue?accruing from the tax exempt sector and evasion in the form of rampant?smuggling of consumer goods, especially under the garb of Afghan?Transit Trade.

Rare winds jump-start sand movement on Mars, according to scientists.

Towering sand dunes on Mars, once thought to be ancient and unchanging, are actually dynamic and active today, new satellite observations show.

Using advanced optical images taken by the High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) on NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, scientists tracked the horizontal and vertical motion of sand over time with unprecedented detail.

"We can actually see movement, potentially, of just a few centimeters," planetary geologist Nathan Bridges of Johns Hopkins University told SPACE.com.

Bridges and his team studied the Nili Patera dune field just north of the Martian equator, taking detailed, high-resolution images over 105 days.

Using a computer program previously used to examine earthquakes and landslides on Earth, the scientists measured movements of the dunes, finding that some of the surface ripples traveled as much as 15 feet (4.5 meters) over the course of the study.? Interestingly, the dunes in the Nili Patera move similarly to those in Victoria Valley, Antarctica, on Earth.

Bridges previously worked on a 2010 study that first identified Martian dune motion in the Nili Patera region. So when he wanted a more detailed look at sand dunes, the region seemed like a good place to start.

"We thought, let's test this technology on an area where we know the motion is occurring," Bridges said.

Located on a volcanic feature inside the Syrtis Major region, Nili Patera is a crater with an opening at one end that allows dunes to blow inside of it. However, this area of Mars isn't likely to be unique.

"There's no reason to think that we would not see this in some other areas of Mars, as well," Bridges said.

The researchers intend to examine the dune and ripple motion on other areas of Mars, including regions where the motion may not be obvious without their technique.

Lawal also showed off his pro wrestling chops with Strikeforce heavyweight Daniel Cormier in November of 2009.

This contract is a bright spot for what had been a turbulent 2012 for Lawal. He contracted a life-threatening staph infection after knee surgery. His victory over Lorenz Larkin was overturned by the Nevada Athletic Commission for a positive drug test, and he was suspended from MMA for nine months. After the hearing to appeal his suspension, Lawal called a commissioner a racist [expletive], and was cut from Strikeforce. Though he apologized personally to the commissioner, he was still not invited back to the Zuffa-owned promotion.

He doesn't see a scenario where he will return to Zuffa through Strikeforce or the UFC:

"I'm not going to wait for nobody. If somebody comes to me with something that is good and a great deal, I'm going to take the best deal. And right now, the Bellator deal is the best deal you can possibly get. With Bellator and Impact Wrestling, that's the best deal you can possibly get, and I took it."

NEC's 13.3-inch LaVie Z Ultrabook weighs just 2.2 pounds, brings lithium-magnesium into your life

Just in case you thought NEC was done with its PC updates this week, the Japanese PC builder has thrown its hat into the Ultrabook ring with a unique contribution of its own. The LaVie Z has a 13.3-inch screen like your garden variety ultralight, but it weighs just 2.2 pounds through a new lithium-magnesium alloy shell about half the weight of the aluminum that some companies love to use. Unfortunately, that weight and the slim frame are about all we know so far: NEC isn't providing any internal specifications, possibly because it's waiting on Ultrabook-ready Ivy Bridge chips. Even so, if you're hanging around Japan and want the lightest possible laptop you can get at a 13-inch screen size, the wait until the planned summer release will feel like an eternity.

Facebook includes an option to limit readership of your posts to specific groups, but you have to remember to use it. Other social media sites may not offer similar protection. A scrambls (free) membership lets you take total control of who can read any post. It isn't military-grade encryption, but it works well for simple privacy, as long as all of your friends install it too.

To start using scrambls, you sign up for a free account and download the appropriate browser plug-in. The service currently offers plug-ins for Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and Fennec (Firefox's mobile browser for Android). There's no plug-in for Internet Explorer as yet, but the company is working on it.

The company specifically advertises that scrambls works with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, and Yammer, but it really should work for any social media site. If you discover a site where scrambls doesn't work, the company wants to know about it.

You type your post as usual, but when you send it scrambls replaces the text with a social-media-friendly encrypted version. If you're logged in to scrambls you'll still see the plain-text post. If not, or if you're not authorized to see the post, it looks like gibberish.

Defining Groups
Out of the box, scrambls defines two groups, Everyone and Only Me. A post scrambld for the Everyone group will be visible to any other scrambls user; a post set to Only Me can't be viewed by anyone but you.

You'll probably want to define your own groups to control access. Unfortunately you can't import your friends list from Facebook. The simplest way to define a group is by using a list of email addresses. According to the scrambls site, "We will soon be adding support for other identifiers, such as a Facebook id, as well as the ability to assign multiple identifiers to one account."

Scrambls offers a number of advanced methods for defining a group. You can include entire domains, for example, to keep certain posts accessible only within your company. You can also exclude specific domains or addresses.

One way to avoid entering an endless list of addresses is the shared secret technique. You define a shared secret (basically a passphrase) for the group. Any scrambls user who wants to view posts assigned to this group must enter the passphrase to see the plain text.

Group rules can also determine just when a post can be viewed. You can control the beginning and ending date for viewing of posts to a group, or set posts to become active and expire after a specified time. For business users, there's an option to authenticate users via an external service; setting this up will require help from scrambls tech support.

Your initial choice of group for a post isn't set in stone. At any time you can right-click a scrambld post and choose a different group. Setting a post to the Only Me group effectively hides it from everyone else.

Am I Commitment Phobe? YES

In light of my last relationship, Mr. Unflushable (formerly PNNU), I've come to the conclusion that I might be a Commitment Phobe. To prove this and to maybe explain away my really awkward guilt for what I don't know, I decided to take a quiz.


Google that wonderful thing that now rules my life: automatically gives me FIVE. Stating with the first one over at www.beleifnet.com, some uber spiritual site, that I'll not willing wander on unless I'm doing research, like now. Anyway from a score of one to one hundred on the quiz, I got a 77. By two points that makes me a commitment phobe.


Not to just accept that as writ, I looked on to the next listing. Www.Cosmopolitan.com, is the be all end all of all things womanly(slutty), fashion, health, beauty, entertainment, and relationships. How many people and you're allowed to not raise your hand, have turned to the frilly pages of Cosmo to spice up your diet, wardrobe, sex life, or just to change your lipstick? I have and I'll probably do it again. ?According to their quiz, not only am I one when it comes to relationships, I haven't committed to anything long term that involves strong bonds. I always assumed that I just had nomadic tendencies, and I liked to wander. According to them I am neither here nor there about my job, my home, or even my friends. Eghads, heaven help me, Cosmo pretty much called me a flake. If I had any deep rooted feelings I might just be insulted.


Then I decided I should check out the next listing. Www.askmarsvenus.com a site with some crusty looking man on it named John Gray PH. D seems pretty legitimate. I gear up for another round of questions. Why am I not surprised with the findings? Well honestly I pretty much had the idea in my head for a while now that I might be a little afraid to commit. So this should not come as a surprise. The quiz on this site asked some questions that I've heard already today, but then it delves deeper and I find myself hesitant to answer further. Nevertheless, I proceed and once again come up with the same ?answers. To make matters worse it also labels me a flake. It says I shouldn't even own a dog, poor Chewy.


If you think I'm going to ask Oprah what she thinks of my relationship problems think again. You should remember how I feel about her and Tyler Perry. They can stuff it. I should look up Oprah's site, I just can't bring myself to do it.


What I do do, is take a break from the quizzing and look up Wikipedia's definition of commitment phobe. There isn't much there on it, and honestly I could have gotten that out of a dictionary. I was afraid that my face wold be pictured there though...




On www.mylifetime.com, I'm actually ready to settle down! They asked five simple questions. As opposed to tallying your response, it was a simple right or wrong. No subjective quiz should have answers like that but hey, it made me feel like there was a light at the end of the tunnel for me yet. Winning!


The last quiz come from www.queendom.com. A very extensive 38 question multiple choice and fill in the blank behemoth that really makes you feel like you've been probed. It was all fun and games though as I read the questions out loud to RFKAO. He already knows, based on everything we've talked about and experienced together that I do have some problems. Then again we met in rehab so that's pretty much a given. The results from that quiz are in the featured picture at the top by the way. Feel free to read through that.?


What these quizzes tell me is something I already knew, not to that extent, but I already knew. What the don't tell me is why?


www.lifescript.com may have the answer to that. This article I found is on the longish side and I admit I didn't read the whole thing. Thus I can't tell you whether I agree with it completely or not. I figured since it is about one in the morning though I should mention it then think more on the topic through out the day in hopes of figuring out why I won't allow myself to be happy. ?I should start a journey of self discovery or something. Or maybe I should just go to bed.?
